<p><strong style="font-size:13px;">The Chetumal Chamber of Commerce, Service and Tourism in partnership with the Embassy of Mexico held a trade mission to Belize today where they aimed to identify potential buyers and suppliers of an array of products and services, as well as investment opportunities. The session provided an opportunity for the local business community to establish business relations with the Chetumal Chamber of Commerce. This morning, Javier Aguilar, Head of Trade, Investment and Tourism Affairs told News Five that the joint initiative was seeing the participation of dozens of local business owners.</strong></p>

<p><em>“The trade mission was pretty much an initiative between the Chetumal Chamber of Commerce and the Mexican Embassy. Last year, we had a trade mission sponsored also by Pro Mexico but lots of entrepreneurs from Chetumal they wanted to come and were unable to during that mission. So through the Chetumal Chamber of Commerce we arranged for them to come and it’s been a very special mission because we are talking about twenty companies which are located, all of them in Chetumal and they are coming to see, either to buy or to offer different products here in Belize, as well as to identify investment opportunities.”</em></p>

<p>“What has been the participation of businesses in Belize, in terms of expressing an interest and being here today to discuss business?”</p>

<p><em>“It’s been very good. As usual with the Belizean entrepreneurs we’ve had lots of them coming during the day. They were here since eight o’clock in the morning and they’ve had very good participation from them, either particulars that are just passing by, they just come and take a look and see and they are very happy to get to know their counterparts in Chetumal.”</em></p>

<p><em>“Well at this point it’s kind of hard to say because language has been an extreme barrier for today but once we communicate with them on a more personal level then we will be able to know, you know.”</em></p>
