Cane-Farmers-2-0001-300x225.jpgWhile there is optimism and a willingness by B.S.C.F.A. to compromise, there is also a real possibility that things won’t end favorably, as has been the case in the past where negotiations have collapsed midstream and both sides find themselves back at the starting point.  If that should be the case, says Cansino, cooler heads will have to prevail and all efforts will be made to avoid taking the matter to the streets.

“If you guys don’t get what you want by then and the farmers decide it’s a no go, the question is aren’t you back and square one and the time is running out.”

Ezekiel Cansino, Chairman, Committee of Management, B.S.C.F.A.

“That is true if we don’t get nothing tomorrow we will be at square one but we have the confidence and the support of the government, they will take a stronger intervention on this matter.”

Isani Cayetano

“There has been a lot of dialogue wither on the part on ASR/B.S.I. or on the part of B.S.C.F.A., when does a call of action comes into play? When do you guys say you know what, the time for talking is up and now it’s time to take some kind of decisive measure or action to make your point be known.”

Ezekiel Cansino

“To tell you the truth the administration level haven’t yet consider that to be an option up to now.”

Isani Cayetano

“Say then that you are going through this as peacefully and as calmly as possible?”

Ezekiel Cansino

“Yes we are trying our best and we are willing and are in good faith to ask them to come to the table because we have experience from year s ago and we don’t want to go back to that again.”

This evening, ASR/B.S.I. sent out a three-line press release saying that the Tower Hill Sugar Mill has completed its annual repairs and is now ready to commence milling operations for the 2014/2015 crop once the start date has been agreed.
