The shortage of fuel already has Belizeans alarmed about private and public transportation. Well, the news of the shortage had others speculating that cruise ships coming into the Belize were cancelled for Friday. We reached out to the Belize Tourism Board and were informed that there is no such thing. The B.T.B. says that they just don’t have any ships scheduled for Friday and it has no correlation to the fuel woes. And while those speculations proved not to be true, this fuel problem, if not addressed quickly, is bound to have serious impacts on the other industry, including tourism. Transportation for tourists via tour buses, taxis, boats and even airplanes may be affected, which would hurt the bottom dollar.
