In political news….Prime Minister Dean Barrow has two years to call general elections, but very few, if any, political observers are betting that he’ll wait that long. In fact, political wisdom is suggesting that elections could likely be held by the end of the year. News Five caught up with senior minister, Manuel Heredia Junior, at an event today and put the question to him. We figured it was a valid query since we’ve been told that recently he held a meeting with management staff at the Ministry of Tourism to alert them to just that eventuality. Today he didn’t exactly shed much light on the timing, but says that he’s ready whenever that day comes.

“No, no…the one that calls the shots is the Prime Minister. I will not take the opportunity to say that it will be called. What I have done is that I am organizing my people. I am organizing my machinery that if elections are called tomorrow I am ready. And let me be very honest. I am ready from before the Town Council elections. I am ready any day.”
