San Ignacio Police are looking for one man in connection with a shooting incident on Monday night. Just before nine pm Police were called to the emergency ward of the La Loma Luz Hospital in Santa Elena where they saw thirty-two year old Matthew Ifield suffering from a gunshot wound to the right thigh. Initial investigations reveal that Ifield is lucky to be alive after a lone gunman fired at least thirteen shots at him as he rode home on the George Price Highway in Santa Elena. Reports are that the male of Hispanic descent came from behind some building and fired several shots at him, one which caused the wound. Ifield managed to continue riding and the gunman kept firing but missed. The injured man made it home and was taken to the La Loma Luz Hospital by his brother. Ironically, reports are that the gunman made his escape through the hospital compound. Ifield was later transferred to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan for treatment.
