In the city, two persons were injured in separate, but related shootings this morning on Jane Usher Boulevard. Shamar Moore and Raheem Arnold were rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after gunmen opened fire on them. Moore and Arnold were reportedly in an altercation with their attackers earlier in the morning. Moments later, Arnold was shot by one of the men and within minutes, Moore, who was on his way to his grandmother’s house, was also targeted. Three expended shells were recovered from the area and police are looking for two persons in connection with this shooting.

“Two persons were shot. Shamar Moore was shot to the right arm, left armpit, left foot and to the left upper leg. We have Raheem Arnold. He was shot to the left pelvic area. They are both hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. and in stable condition. We have our investigators out there and there are two suspects that we are presently seeking for this shooting.”

“Okay. These guys were on the street in the Jane Usher Boulevard when they had an argument with some persons in that area. One was shot first and then as he was going to his grandmother’s house, the other person was shot.”

“Sir, are they believed or are they connected to any of the gangs in the Jane Usher area?”

“We are still working to establish that. We know that they are from that general Jane Usher Boulevard area.”

“Again, we are investigating to establish who and what the motive is for this shooting.”

“Sir, are the victims and the assailants friends or acquaintances or what?”

“We don’t know at this time. It is two separate incidents that occurred just minutes apart from each other.”

“This happened around ten-forty this morning.”

“Yes. We believe they are the same persons that did the shooting.”

No, we gone in and deh say Raheem deh inna the bush. So, all deh bwai come and we pick up Raheem. We pick ah up inna wi hand and we come and bring ah down yah.”
