Chinese Employer Slaps Worker

Twenty-eight year old Ming Pei Chen, the owner of Honey Bees Supermarket in Ladyville, who allegedly slapped one of his employees, was charged with common assault when he appeared today before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stuart. Chen pled not guilty to the charge. He was released on a bail of one thousand dollars and his case was adjourned until March 17. The incident occurred on January 4. The employee, Deon Usher, reported to the police that he and Chen had a misunderstanding and Chen assaulted him.
