The arrival of a new Taiwanese Ambassador is expected later this week; he will to succeed Ambassador David Wu who departed over the weekend after a successful diplomatic tour in Belize. The new Ambassador is Ben Ho, who many will recall served in Belize in the period 1993-1998. Ho has also completed missions as Ambassador in Kiribati and has served in Hawaii, United Kingdom and Singapore and held senior posts in Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is expected to arrive on Thursday along with his wife. While Taiwan enjoys diplomatic ties with only a handful of countries including Belize; it is one of the most generous partners so its head of mission plays an integral role in the relations with Belmopan.
