Minister of Education Patrick Faber is neck deep in a personal and political scandal tonight. The senior government minister has been accused of assaulting a staff member and her friend while at a party at his home in Lord’s Bank on Friday night. The shocking report was made to the Ladyville Police Station at five on Saturday morning. While Police have gone into blackout mode, News Five has obtained a copy of that allegation made to Police. Apparently twenty-five year old Nikiesha Polanco, an employee of the Ministry of Education, was having her birthday party at the home of her boss, Minister Patrick Faber. The report reads, and “Whilst utilizing her cell phone Patrick Faber approached her requesting her cell phone, where she refused, that was when Patrick Faber assaulted her by choking her on the bed.” The report further states that the young lady shouted for help and her cries got the attention of a friend who came into the bedroom. According to the report, “Patrick grabbed Nickesha from her hair, pulled her off the bed onto the ground and pulled her to the curry (sic) door, whereby he punched her twice to the right side of the face causing her to feel pain, In the process she also sustained abrasions on the right knee and the right hand.” The report was made to Police at five that morning, and Polanco was issued with a medico-legal form for her injuries. In keeping with Police procedure, Patrick Faber was noted in the report as the person wanted. Today Faber hosted a media breakfast to discuss a host of education issues. But of course, the allegation that he assaulted young women in his home was the most important topic of the morning.

“A report was made and I believe subsequent to that that report has been withdrawn for the mere reason that the situation did not occur as it was reported. So it was withdrawn and so there is no issue there any longer. The young lady is my friend. All of you know that in fact my wife and I have undergone a separation that is going on to almost a year now, and we had an unfortunate squabble if you will, but nothing like what has been reported and so the complaint was withdrawn. Of course there are people who would want to fuel this, and I speak particularly of one individual who at the time of the situation with my wife in fact made a lot of charges, wrote up a lot of nonsense in a report and is seeking to do so again. I want for the record to say to people that I try to be an upstanding citizen. I am human and I have a personal life. I am a young man…I am not an old man. I am thirty-six years old. While I understand fully that I am a public figure, I do have private activities in my life. It is true that if a complaint is made then it is the business of the public. That complaint has been withdrawn. As far as I know the Police do not have any issues with me. The young lady that you speak of has no issues with me certainly, and in an effort to try to protect whatever friendship is there too, I will not say anything more than that. But there is no issue left in the ballad so that people have to be concerned.”
