<p><a rel="nofollow" class="highslide" target="_blank" href="http://edition.channel5belize.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC_9102.jpg"><imgclass="alignleft size-medium wp-image-109645" title="San Pedro Nominations" src="http://edition.channel5belize.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC_9102-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199"/></a>In San Pedro, candidates for three political parties were nominated. While the municipal’s issues are pretty much the same, crime is a major headache for the U.D.P. town council. A total of twenty-one hopefuls made their appearance before Election Returning Officer, Colin Griffith, and Election Officer, Miriam Codd-Pott, at the San Pedro Town Council. First to be nominated was the People’s United Party candidates, who arrived shortly around eleven this morning. The P.U.P. Seven team was lead by Mayoral Candidate, Doctor Giovanni Solorzano. Other candidates are Gualberto Nuñez, Marina Kay, Alex Noralez, Conchita Flota, Reymundo Nunez and and Omar Guerrero. At around twelve-thirty, the Vision Inspired by the People candidates arrived at the San Pedro Town Council. Its slate consists of mayoral candidate Roberto “Bobby” Lopez and councillor candidates: Mary Boiton, Francisco Salgado, Fatima Aragon Reyes, Amalio Requeña, Virginio Henkis and Martin Dawson. The U.D.P. headed to the town council in the afternoon in the afternoon showing more muscle that the two other parties. The team is headed by incumbent mayoral candidate, Daniel Guerrero; while councillor candidates are Hector Guerrero, Gabriel Nuñez, Flora Ancona, Garry Grief, Ruben Gonzalez and Severo Guerrero. It is the first time that three complete slates will contest the municipal election on the island.</p>
