And in other news from Belmopan, a witness in the brutal slaying of the notorious Roaring Creek resident, Russell Hyde and Marcy Humes has given a statement to police. Authorities had been seeking that person who was with Hyde and Humes as they approached the gate of Hyde’s hilltop home in Camalote on Friday night. Sources tell us that the witness was unable to provide any assistance with identifying three gunmen who unleashed a deadly hail of bullets at the trio that night. Police are now able to confirm, though, that Marcy Humes was the first to go down, and then Hyde who apparently tried to run for the cover of darkness on a dirt road next to his farm. His body was found about a hundred feet from that of Humes. Both were shot multiple times from close range. While Police have not released any names of suspects in this double homicide, we are reliably informed that they continue to look for Timroy Neal, a resident of Belmopan, who they say may be in the Belize District. Actually Police have been looking for Neal since the murder of Hyde’s common-law-wife, Roselia Galvez, in May. In the last three months, eleven persons directly associated with Russell Hyde have been killed in Belize and the U.S. So far, a total of seven Hyde siblings have been killed—six due to violent crimes and one from a traffic accident.
